Calathea Picturata Argentea
A very unique variety of Calathea, this species has a very light green almost blue centre, with darker contrasting borders and a red/plum underside to the leaves.
- Calatheas are known as ‘Prayer plants’ meaning their foliage folds up at night and drops during the day.
- Large wide leaves, with a almost feathered appearance
Growth pattern: Compact rosette geophyte
Water: When the top 2-3cm of soil becomes dry.
Ideal Position: East facing
Light: Bright, indirect or filtered light.
Humidity disclaimer: This plant will grow well outside of a terrarium or cabinet. However, all tropical plants thrive with higher humidity levels. To achieve this we suggest grouping plants together, or putting them in a bathroom or kitchen which gets regular use.
