Calathea Ornata
This prayer plant is native to Colombia and Venezuela, with delicate pink pinstripes going across the foliage. The name ‘Ornata’ comes from the plant being considered so Ornate.
- Calatheas are known as ‘Prayer plants’ meaning their foliage folds up at night and drops during the day.

Growth pattern: Compact rosette geophyte
Water: When the top 2-3cm of soil becomes dry.
Ideal Position: East facing
Light: Bright, indirect or filtered light.
Humidity disclaimer: This plant will grow well outside of a terrarium or cabinet. However, all tropical plants thrive with higher humidity levels. To achieve this we suggest grouping plants together, or putting them in a bathroom or kitchen which gets regular use.
