Caladium steudnerifolium
A Colombian native Aroid with dark, broadly ovate leaves and brightly contrasting variegation. The variegation is suspected to be a deterrent to leaf-boring caterpillars, mimicking previous insect damage. Imported in 2021 from sustainably propagated stock.
Growth pattern: Compact herbaceous.
Water: When the top 2-3cm of soil becomes dry.
Ideal Position: East facing.
Light: Bright, indirect or filtered light.
Humidity disclaimer: This plant will grow well outside of a terrarium or cabinet. However, all tropical plants thrive with higher humidity levels. To achieve this we suggest grouping plants together, or putting them in a bathroom or kitchen which gets regular use.
