Begonia ‘Taconite’
Under flash light this is probably the most iridescent blue Begonia. No photo can do justice to the beauty of this small plant! A must have for any serious Begonia collector. Propagated in the UK.
This plant was selected by Tim Anderson of Fairchild Tropical Botanic Gardens. The foliage is dark and speckled with deep maroon undersides. The magic comes under flash light when the leaves iridesce.
Growth pattern: Upright & cane-stemmed
Water: When the top 2-3cm of soil becomes dry. Do not allow water to sit on the leaves.
Ideal Position: North, south or east facing
Light: Medium to bright, indirect light.
Please Note: This species requires terrarium conditions.
Begonias are notoriously fussy and are prone to die back or ‘melting’ when shipped. We pack with care but expect some level of die back when you receive the plant. With appropriate care the plant will grow back stronger and be more suited to the conditions you provide. Only purchase if you are confident in your ability to care for this plant.
