This plant is known for its uniquely shaped, bullate (heavily textured or blistered) leaves, which are deeply lobed and have a characteristic pandurate (fiddle-shaped) form. The leaves are a deep green and possess a glossy finish, giving them a luxurious appearance. The distinctive bullate texture adds to the plant’s appeal, making it a favourite among collectors of rare aroids.
Native to: Anthurium pandurilaminum is native to the tropical rainforests of Central and South America, particularly in regions of Colombia. It thrives in the humid understory of these forests, where it grows as an epiphyte or terrestrial plant in the shaded and moisture-rich environment.
Water: This plant prefers consistently moist soil but does not tolerate waterlogged conditions. Water when the top inch of the soil feels dry, ensuring that the potting mix remains well-drained. Overwatering can lead to root rot, so it is crucial to allow the soil to dry slightly between waterings.
