Alocasia watsoniana ‘Purple’
A rare and showstopping species with huge, purple tinted heart-shaped, glossy textured leaves. Native to Malaysia.
- Leaves are dark green with contrasting purple/white veining.
- Leaf undersides are deep purple.
- Related to Alocasia Longiloba but with cordate, softer foliage.
Growth pattern: Tuberous & bushes outwards
Water: Little and often. Keep moist but not waterlogged.
Ideal Position: North or east facing
Light: Medium to bright, indirect light.
Humidity disclaimer: This plant will grow well outside of a terrarium or cabinet. However, all tropical plants thrive with higher humidity levels. To achieve this we suggest grouping plants together, or putting them in a bathroom or kitchen which gets regular use.
