Alocasia macrorrhiza ‘Stingray’
A fascinatingly architectural plant, instantly recognisable for its unique, sting-ray shaped leaves for which this species gets its namesake. Native to South-East Asia.
- Stems are mottled yellow and black, similar to Alocasia Zebrina.
- Leaves are glossy green, slightly veined and crinkled.
- Unreal in looks, it is a true statement plant.
Growth pattern: Tuberous, tall & upright
Water: Little and often. Keep moist but not waterlogged.
Ideal Position: South, east or north facing
Light: Medium to bright, indirect light.
Humidity disclaimer: This plant will grow well outside of a terrarium or cabinet. However, all tropical plants thrive with higher humidity levels. To achieve this we suggest grouping plants together, or putting them in a bathroom or kitchen which gets regular use.
